This definitely adds a layer of charm to the game, and helps to set it apart from the competition in both the farming and RPG markets. Sure, the special edition comes with a number of upgrades and edits to the base game. You can marry Lumina, some sprites have been changed, and fertilizer comes in smaller quantities, but these are all too insignificant compared to the cons of the special edition.
